Flora

I had lunch with Ann by a pretty river this afternoon. It's very fishy water that I've walked along and driven by many times during the past few years. I've not fished the particular stretch that goes right through the heart of town. I must do so. Maybe this weekend if for no other reason that to satisfy my curiosity as to whether this fishy looking water holds trout.

Ann and I followed up lunch with a walk later in the day at a nature preserve in town. Very pretty in a way that makes you instantly covet it. Of course, owning such a piece of property would then saddle you with all the upkeep and other burdens of ownership so perhaps a public trust is the way to go. It's an old farm that was donated to the local forest association and now serves as their headquarters. With temps in the high seventies, enough clouds to make it not too sunny and a breeze that came and went a precisely the times you wanted it to, it was a splendid walk.

  1. Things like this can often be overlooked at the time we see it.
But later in the day as we reflect..... it comes to the forefront.

    Wonderful post.
