There's something very satisfying about catching & releasing wild trout.

  1. Good post. I don't remember when it happened, but at some point releasing fish became an essential part of the fun. In some way it completes the deception in a more satisfying way that a dead fish.

    1. Yes, it does. And perhaps sets us up for more wild fish. Unlike Switzerland or Germany.

  2. Yes, and as the fish swims away, may you both be at peace with each other!

  3. I like when they linger at your feet after being released. It's as if they realize you're not there to take them. But then they think better of it and haul ass anyway. Makes me smile.

    1. That is very cool. I once had a brook trout sit in the eddy created by my boot for some time. It wasn't until I moved my boot that he sought better cover.
